Are you planning to apply for external funding during the fall 2013 semester, but aren’t sure how to get started? The GradFund Proposal Writing Workgroup offers a supportive, interdisciplinary environment for graduate students to discuss the mechanics of applying for external awards, consider strategies for writing a competitive funding application, draft funding proposals, and receive peer review in a supportive community environment. The Spring 2013 workgroup will meet weekly from January to May: Each group meeting will run approximately 2.5 hours and will require 1-2 hours of preparatory work.
The workgroup will be limited to 10 matriculated Rutgers graduate students in order to give each participant detailed and constructive feedback on their developing application materials. An online information session for the workgroup will take place tomorrow, December 18, at 11 am through the GradFund Virtual Office on Sakai. If you are interested in participating in the workgroup, please email Assistant Dean Teresa Delcorso at firstname.lastname@example.org with “GradFund Proposal Writing Workgroup” in the subject line. In the body of your email, please indicate your interest in joining the workgroup, your graduate program, year in program, the funder to which you would like to apply, and whether you are able to attend the online information session tomorrow (attendance at the information session is not required but strongly advised). We hope to see you there!
