Touring GradFund’s Digital Content

GradFund’s digital content has been expanding rapidly over the past few years, so you’re probably wondering where to start and what we have to offer. Well, follow me, I’ll show you around our corner of the web!

First Stop: GradFund Central

Welcome to GradFund’s main webpage! This site houses important information about the GradFund office and advice for students who are applying for external funding. The first things you should notice are the tabs along the top of the page. The Find Awards page houses the GradFund database, where you can search for awards that could be a good fit for you. You can also access Pivot through this page, where you can continue your award search. The Fulbrights page houses information on Fulbright fellowships for students who wish to go abroad as part of their graduate studies; we manage graduate student Fulbright applications through our office. The Success Stories page gives you perspectives from students that have been successful in achieving external funding. You can also schedule a meeting or ask us a question on GradFund Central.

Next Stop: GradFund Conversations

GradFund Conversations, our blog about external funding for graduate students, was launched in February 2012. We routinely post funding themed advice and announcements on our blog, with topics ranging from the Art of the Abstract to Salesmanship: Appealing to your funder. All of our posts are archived by conversation topic.

Final Stop: GradFund Virtual Office on Sakai

The final stop on the GradFund Tour is our Virtual Office on Sakai, which can only be accessed by Rutgers students via login. While the main function is to receive meeting materials from students, we have recently added the GradFund Knowledgebase and Self-paced Mentoring Programs to the Virtual Office. The Knowledgebase contains a library of tools for students to develop funding applications, as well as advice from faculty reviewers, program officers, and previous students.  The Self-paced Mentoring Programs are available to Rutgers students to help with writing a funding application and organizing all of its components. Each self-paced program consists of modules created by GradFund to guide you through the writing process one step at a time.

Now that you know what resources GradFund has, we hope you will visit! Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter to stay up-to-date on GradFund announcements and events!
